He's here!

My grandson, Michael Laurence (after Larry) was born on Monday at 9:42 AM. He's absolutely perfect! Katie and baby are doing great and came home from the hospital yesterday. Faith is having a little bit of a struggle adapting to having a baby brother around and taking some of Mommy and Daddy's attention, but for the most part she's been so, so good! She's so proud of him and gives him lots of kisses!
This is a picture of a birthday card that I gave to Katie (wanted to keep it in the family since this is one of my favorite cards!) for her birthday on Saturday. We did this card at a stamp camp last summer. It's so bright and cheery and just right for Katie's 30th birthday!

Ingredients: Stamp set: Awash with Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Black, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
Paper: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Black, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala (discontinued)
Accessories: Curly Label punch, Gold brads, Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals (of course), scallop trim border punch

The inside was stamped with one of the flowers and burnished like the front of the card. To do the burnishing technique, stamp an outline image with a dark color (black used here), masking off the images if needed. Using a sponge dauber on you finger, pick up color directly from the stamp pad. In a circular motion, add the color to your image. Don't worry about staying in the lines. Add color as you want, with the background color between and a darker background color towards the bottom. This technique was shared by one of my favorite Stampin' Up! demonstrators, Jan Tinkelburg.
Hope you're all getting some time to stamp! We're working on announcements for the new baby, so I'm getting lots of stampin' time in! Happy stampin"!
Lauri
