More Valentines!

Image
I've been making phone calls and getting the ball rolling for a My Golden Valentine program here! (See the post from yesterday if you have questions on the program). Oh what fun! Our neighbor, Carolann, came over yesterday for a couple of hours and helped me with more Valentines for the pile. We had so much fun! This is an updated version of one of them that we did last year. I just used the current set from the mini catalog Take it to Heart and the Framelit dies to cut out the hearts. I used the letterpress plate, Lots of Love on the newsprint paper, First Edition.  I love the new look it gives to the newsprint. I did have to look in the catalog for the correct sandwich to send these through the Big Shot. You can find that on page 217 in the Idea Book and Catalog. Just make sure your words and the words on the newsprint are both going the right direction. Inside I stamped the Candy Conversations and added the Pinking Hearts border along the bottom with a heart cut from the ...

Will You Be My Valentine?

Valentine's is just around the corner...that day that some would just as soon skip! Back in SD, the Christian radio station, KSLT sponsored a program called My Golden Valentine. They requested Valentines from their listeners to pass out to the elderly in nursing homes, assisted living homes, and to the shut ins of the community...those that so many times are forgotten on a day like Valentine's Day.  I've made Valentines for them for the last several years and have had so much fun doing it! While I was making these Valentines, I thought maybe it would be something that I can do here in Elko! Katie suggested getting her Agape group  from school involved, so I'm off and running to see what I can put together. If any of you would like to get involved, just make some Valentines to be delivered to the elderly in the community and let me know. What a joy giving brings! I know I've always been blessed more than the receiver doing it! KSLT started out with 350 Valentines the...

Copy Cat from Catalog

I love our catalog and all the great card ideas! I still haven't run out of ones that I want to try to make. You should see all the circles in my catalog! This one caught my eye the first time I paged through it, and I thought that it would be pretty easy to do. It was a little more complicated than I first anticipated, but after a couple of trial and errors, I got it figured out and then they went together pretty quick. I changed just a couple of things, but it's basically like the picture on page 160 of the Idea Book and Catalog. Here's my version: I made some for Birthdays and Thank you cards, and some.... Just from me.... Lots and lots of dimension with the embossing and flower, ribbon and dimensionals! I love the inside! I used the tulip embossing folder, then colored them with markers. I know, my friend Susan would say that I'm crazy, but it's just so pretty! Love the colors...one of my favorite combinations...purple and green! You can get a list of the ing...

Occasions Mini Catalog

I've had so much fun playing with the new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I love the new ribbon and the new Edgelits and Framelits! I used almost all new products on the cards I made...trying to get them all broken in! I used both Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride card stock and ribbon along with the DSP Twitterpated. I love these colors together! I colored in the outline image of the border stamp with a VersaMarker to deepen the colors of the flowers just a bit. Lots of dimension to the cards! I repeated the border on the inside along the bottom edge.   Ingredients: Bordering on Romance, Take It to Heart, Loving Thoughts, Mixed Bunch all from the Occasions Mini Catalog Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Twitterpated DSP Ink: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Blushing Bride Accessories: Heart Framelit Dies, Texture Impressions and Edgelit Dies Adorning Accents, Big Shot, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, Sponges, S...
