More Valentines!

I've been making phone calls and getting the ball rolling for a My Golden Valentine program here! (See the post from yesterday if you have questions on the program). Oh what fun! Our neighbor, Carolann, came over yesterday for a couple of hours and helped me with more Valentines for the pile. We had so much fun! This is an updated version of one of them that we did last year. I just used the current set from the mini catalog Take it to Heart and the Framelit dies to cut out the hearts.
I used the letterpress plate, Lots of Love on the newsprint paper, First Edition.  I love the new look it gives to the newsprint. I did have to look in the catalog for the correct sandwich to send these through the Big Shot. You can find that on page 217 in the Idea Book and Catalog. Just make sure your words and the words on the newsprint are both going the right direction.

Inside I stamped the Candy Conversations and added the Pinking Hearts border along the bottom with a heart cut from the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die.

Ingredients: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Candy Conversations, Take It To Heart
Paper: First Edition Specialty Paper, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Lots of Love Letterpress Plate, Big Shot, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die, Framelits Hearts Collection, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals

So our pile is starting to grow! Off to get more started while the kids are napping!
Stamp something fun today for someone else! I know you will be blessed!

Will You Be My Valentine?

Valentine's is just around the corner...that day that some would just as soon skip! Back in SD, the Christian radio station, KSLT sponsored a program called My Golden Valentine. They requested Valentines from their listeners to pass out to the elderly in nursing homes, assisted living homes, and to the shut ins of the community...those that so many times are forgotten on a day like Valentine's Day.  I've made Valentines for them for the last several years and have had so much fun doing it! While I was making these Valentines, I thought maybe it would be something that I can do here in Elko! Katie suggested getting her Agape group  from school involved, so I'm off and running to see what I can put together. If any of you would like to get involved, just make some Valentines to be delivered to the elderly in the community and let me know. What a joy giving brings! I know I've always been blessed more than the receiver doing it! KSLT started out with 350 Valentines the first year and had donations of over 10,000 Valentines last year! WOW! I know that they are doing it again this year, and would love your participation there too! Here's a simple version of some of the Valentines that I'll be making...
A little "non traditional" color...Poppy Parade!

The insides are stamped with the new stamp Candy Conversations in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

I did some of the more traditional Valentine color too...Real Red. I love the red and white ribbon tied together on these! I added a little tag from the Tiny Tags set and attached it with a pin from the Vintage Trinkets.

Another more traditional color...Cherry Cobbler

Ingredients: Take It to Heart, Tiny Tags, Candy Conversations
Paper: Poppy Parade, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Very Vanilla
Ink: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (sanded), Big Shot, Heart Framelit Dies, Ribbons to match, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Vintage Trinkets, Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals

How fun and easy to do! I have my first 10 done! LOL!

Copy Cat from Catalog

I love our catalog and all the great card ideas! I still haven't run out of ones that I want to try to make. You should see all the circles in my catalog! This one caught my eye the first time I paged through it, and I thought that it would be pretty easy to do. It was a little more complicated than I first anticipated, but after a couple of trial and errors, I got it figured out and then they went together pretty quick. I changed just a couple of things, but it's basically like the picture on page 160 of the Idea Book and Catalog. Here's my version:
I made some for Birthdays and Thank you cards, and some....

Just from me....

Lots and lots of dimension with the embossing and flower, ribbon and dimensionals! I love the inside! I used the tulip embossing folder, then colored them with markers. I know, my friend Susan would say that I'm crazy, but it's just so pretty!

Love the colors...one of my favorite combinations...purple and green! You can get a list of the ingredients on the sidebar, or here's a list of what I used.

Ingredients: Stamps: Sincere Salutations, A Word For You
Paper:Confetti White, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, In Color Patterns DSP, First Edition Specialty Paper
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Grosgrain Ribbon, In Color brads, Fancy Flower Punch, Blossom Petals Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Tulips Embossing Folder, Pearls Jewels, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Markers

The hardest part of these were getting a template made that was straight for the "windows". When I got one made for that, I used it to punch all 6 of the cards that I made (and saved it to do again sometime) and then it was pretty easy! I just punched out the pieces and put them together! I love the little pearl on the sentiment and the little cut out piece with part of the words on it. I didn't have any of the buttons, so used the brads in the center of my flower and since I didn't have the textured paper, I textured the front with the tulips embossing folder to give it a little more dimension.  Love how they turned out!! I'd love to send one to each of you! LOL!
Hope you're getting some great stamping time in! I'm working on Valentines that I'll share with you tomorrow.
Happy Stampin'!

Occasions Mini Catalog

I've had so much fun playing with the new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I love the new ribbon and the new Edgelits and Framelits! I used almost all new products on the cards I made...trying to get them all broken in!

I used both Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride card stock and ribbon along with the DSP Twitterpated. I love these colors together! I colored in the outline image of the border stamp with a VersaMarker to deepen the colors of the flowers just a bit.
Lots of dimension to the cards!

I repeated the border on the inside along the bottom edge.

Ingredients: Bordering on Romance, Take It to Heart, Loving Thoughts, Mixed Bunch all from the Occasions Mini Catalog
Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Twitterpated DSP
Ink: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Heart Framelit Dies, Texture Impressions and Edgelit Dies Adorning Accents, Big Shot, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, Sponges, Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals, VersaMarker

I've already mailed a couple of these out for birthday cards...still working on that January list!  You don't have to save these for Valentines (though they would be great). Hearts are not just for one day a year!
Stamp the day away!
