Frosty and Rudy
Tis the season...for being BUSY! I love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and all the preparations and surprises! I'm in the process of helping Katie make quilted stockings for all of Dickson's family that are coming, getting shopping done, presents wrapped and mailed, cards finished and more cards made, and preparing for our trip to Disneyland! WOW! Can't wait! Then to top it off, Katie and I are taking a cake decorating class at our local Joanne's store with classes on Tues and Thurs nights. We've finished 2 lessons so far, and boy, have I learned a lot about cake baking and decorating! Here's a picture of our first cakes...
Have been busy too with doing some paper crafting. I made these for stocking stuffers for the kids and gave one to each of the ladies that came to the last Wrap it Up! class. I love them! They hold a Hershey bar and can be opened and closed so that you can use them again after the candy is gone. A very talented demonstrator, Michelle Suit shared the pattern for us on our demonstrator web site. Thanks Michelle!
Katie made the cupcake one and I made the fish one. My poor cake had the eye squished on the way home, so my fish just wasn't seeing right! Sure tasted better than most fish though!
Not too bad for rookies, right? Holly, who is teaching the class has a cake business and has been so kind to share all her knowledge with us...even a wonderful cake recipe for high altitude. I didn't realize that Elko was over 5,000 feet! We split our cakes and put a peach filling in it between the layers! So yummy!!!! They didn't last long around here!Have been busy too with doing some paper crafting. Elko held a Christmas Parade on Saturday night that we attended too. I was really impressed! The businesses that had floats did a wonderful job. They passed out all kinds of candy, pop from the Pepsi truck, jingle bells (one of the things that Faith wanted for Christmas!) and a stuffed animal to each of the kids at the end of the parade. They had a beautifully done ice sculpture displayed at City Hall, and lots of festivities for the people waiting for the parade. We had a blast!
I see a couple of scrapbook pages coming!!
I pray that as each of you are busy with the Holidays, that you take time to stop and pause and celebrate the reason for the season...JESUS! What a great time we're having celebrating His birth!
Joy to the World!
Happy Stampin'!
