Computer Problems! GRR!

I've been fussing with computer problems this week. I just love those problems! (Count it all joy...!) I have been stamping and making some new cards to show you, but for some reason, I can't get my card reader to work and even lost some of the pictures that I took. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time trouble shooting, so maybe today while Dickson is home, I can get it all figured out and be back to "normal" (whatever that is!)
I received a fun card in the mail this week from my friend, Susan, back in SD. I would love to show you a picture, but, you know, just one of those things! I'll be sure to post a picture when I get everything worked out. I may just need to get a new card reader...that would be simple!
Be sure to check out the Clearance Rack on Stampin' Up! They have some of the old style punches on clearance along with some paper, the card keepers, and lots of other fun stuff! Get it before it's gone!!
There's lots of exciting things happening this time of year with the new catalog just around the corner! The retired list will come out on the 15th and a sneak preview of the catalog soon to follow! I'm pretty excited to see the new In Colors and all the new things that they will have to offer! Can't wait!!! I've seen a couple of the new sets in our Demonstrators monthly magazine...shh! Can't tell!!

CLASSES TO JOIN: We have 4 groups going now with technique clubs. We have 2 groups that are scrapbooking, and 2 that are working on just cards. If you want to learn some new techniques, give a call and we'll work you into one of the groups. All of them are on different days, so there's sure to be one that will work for you!

SAVE THE DATE!! We're doing an overnight scrapbooking get together on the 27th and 28th! I've been working on putting goody bags together for all those that are coming, plus little mini classes to get your mojo working! I will have all my punches, Big Shot and dies, stamp sets and ink pads available for you to use. Bring your supplies and plan on getting lots of pages done! The cost is only $25.00!! (to cover the cost of food). We only have a few spots left, so let me know right away if you would like to join us. Call me for all the details.

I do have one picture to share with you today that I forgot to post when we did the Rock and Roll technique. I made these little holders for all the girls in the technique class...just a little goody from me! The original pattern that I saw had candy in it, but I thought flower seeds would be so fun for Spring.


I'm sticking one of these into my Mother's Day cards too! How fun!
Better get to work trouble shooting and see if I can't have some more pictures to share with you! Wish me luck!

Work, work, and more work, leaves little time for playing! As a new teacher this year, I'm spending a lot of time coming up with new ideas and ways to share ideas with kids. I'm loving every minute of it, but it leaves little time for stamping! I have done several classes and have done a little bit of stamping, but not near enough! My fingers are itching to get back at it! Here's a couple of samples of things that I've gotten done...   This one is masked, shaded and then unmasked and stamped with the leaves. Simple design, but fun to do and makes a great guy card...which as you know, can be hard to come up with! I made these with my scrapbook group on Wednesday night, and they loved them! I stamped a leaf in the corner, and then one on the outside of the envelope too. This one I've done before, but just love the design and the technique! To get this neat look, add color to the stamp with the marker first, then spray the watercolor paper with water

Scrapbook on the Walls

I love to scrapbook too! I put a lot of time into the pages I create, and have found that scrapbook frames are a great way to scrapbook on the walls and be able to enjoy those creations before adding them to a book.  I have been working on a gift for my daughter-in-law, whose birthday was last week. I finally finished it yesterday and I'm really excited to get it mailed to her. I used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, stamped them with the stitched hexagon on scraps of Designer Series Paper in Early Espresso, then dabbed each side on the ink pad to add the dark edge to them. The flowers are cut from the Floral Fusion Sizzlit, also shaded, curled a little to give them some shape and added with a dimensional. Love, love, love the new Expressions Thinlits Dies from the Holiday Catalog! I can see that I will be using them a lot for scrapbook pages and for cards! Pearls, iridescent embossing on the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri set add a little bling to the page. Matching pun

Thank You!

I've been able to make lots of thank you cards this summer. You see, I've been diagnosed with breast cancer, and through the process, I've had some very kind and giving people. It has humbled me greatly to hear the number of people that are praying for me, and knowing that each prayer is brought before our Mighty King and He hears and answers each one. It makes me very grateful! It has been a different summer than what we had planned, that's for sure! Chemo has not been kind some days, and then other days, I feel "normal" and back to myself again...except for no hair! I'm getting used to wearing hats and scarves, though I still can't get used to the people that look at me like I have something missing. I just try to smile and not let it bother me. Maybe they'll figure it out, and then maybe not.Thank you for the support and love I have felt from my family and friends! I know that I don't fight this battle alone and I cherish each one of you!
