Embossed Hearts
My little sister will be celebrating her birthday while I'm in Colorado, so I had to make her a special birthday card before I leave tomorrow. I'm not able to take any of my supplies with me on the plane, and don't think I'll really have time while I'm there to do much besides chase kids anyway...which I'm looking forward to!! Poor Gabe fell and hurt his foot last night so after a trip to the emergency room, he's hobbling around on crutches. I think I might be able to keep up with him anyway! Ha!
A fellow demonstrator shared last week how to emboss with the new Framelits Dies, and made such a beautiful card that I just had to CASE it! (That means copy and share everything!) I didn't change much at all on her card because it was so beautiful just the way it was! So here's a card like I'm sending to my little Sis, except hers says Happy Birthday along the bottom...

I love all the texture lines and the dimension that the flowers have!
And of course, I couldn't leave out the inside...had to make that pretty too!
I did the flowers using the reinker float technique and did three layers of them. The first one I taped flat, the second I cut around just the three flowers and popped it up with dimensionals, then the third layer was just a single flower popped up again with dimensionals. The pearls were added to the centers, and along the sayings and the buttons along the score lines in the corner. I wish you could all just see it in person so you could see the shimmer and the texture!
Ingredients: Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Bordering on Romance
Paper: Shimmer White, both for the card base and for the reinker technique, Patterns DSP 2010-2011 In Color Assortment
Ink: Black Craft, Basic Black
Ink Refills: Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz
Accessories: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Hearts Collection Framelits Dies, Big Shot, Texturz Impressions Pad, Pearls, Aquapainter, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Lots of Dimensionals, Satin Ribbon, Snail Adhesive, Bitty Buttons, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, embroidery floss, spray bottle
The heart dies were layered on the Big Shot with the platform open on tab 1, a clear cutting plate on the platform, then the silicone mat, your card stock, the Framelits (I used the second and third sizes) on top with the cutting side up, then the second clear cutting plate, then row, row, row your boat through the Big Shot. Beautiful! You just have to try this!
A few hours left now to try to get a few Valentines done for my Grand kids, then it's off to Salt Lake to catch a plane in the morning. I pray that the weather in Colorado clears up before I get there! I'll be missing in action for the next couple of weeks as I meet my new Granddaughter and spoil my other Grand kids! What's a Grandma for, right?
