Convention Swaps
I was able to attend convention the end of July, thanks to my girls, Jamie and Katie. They paid for my registration fee, and for our room while in Salt Lake! I am one blessed Mom!! I learned so much, took tons of photos, toured the Stampin' Up! facilities for the first time, walked miles and miles, swapped cards and scrapbook pages, and all in all had a BLAST!! We got lots of FREE stamp sets, classes for stamping with them, and classes for the business end of things. My friend Loretta and I hung out together most of the time during the day, and Larry went fishing, then I was able to spend some much needed time with my husband in the evenings. What fun! Thank you so much Jamie and Katie!! Love you bunches!!
The theme for the year was I am....and you filled in the blank. I am so thrilled that I was able to attend!!!
I signed up ahead of time for a couple of organized swaps, one for scrapbooking and one for cards. This is the swap that I made for the card group...
I used the new For the Birds set on page 34 of the catalog. I stamped it with Stazon Ink on watercolor paper, then colored it with a variety of markers and lots of layers with little pearls to glitz it up a little! I love the bird images in this stamp set!
And of course, you can't forget the inside!
Here are a couple of the other cards that I received in return...
Aren't they gorgeous?? What's really nice about this swap, is that all the cards are full cards with no writing on them, so I can actually mail them out! I made 21 cards in all and received 20 in return...one goes to the lady that went through all the work to get the swap organized! I did not participate in any of the random swaps. There were millions of card fronts exchanging hands all over the place for 4 days! WOW!! Some of the ladies made hundreds of cards to swap...think of all the hours of stamping!! I'll share more of the photos that I took in the next couple of days and the swaps that I received. It's so much fun to relive it all!
Here's a sample of one of the cards that we've made in our card classes in the last couple of months. This one used the striped embossing folder to make the gingham checks. Love this technique!
The girls loved making these!!
Until tomorrow, happy stampin'!!
